Books, national & international journals, e-journals, online databases, research reports, multimedia resources and access to DELNET. All searchable via OPAC.

Rules for the Library

Eligibility

The ACCMAN library is primarily meant for the faculty, full-time students of all courses, administrative staff, visiting faculty and research scholars. Non-ACCMANians may consult the library for reading purposes only with permission from the Director.

Membership Procedure

Collect the Library membership form from the circulation counter and submit it to the Librarian along with one passport-size photograph and a photocopy of your Identity card, fee receipt, or any other authorised document.

General Rules

  1. Books will be issued only after the member produces their Library card / I-card at the Circulation counter.
  2. For renewing, it is necessary to be present at the counter — renewal is not automatic. If there is pending demand, the renewal request may be turned down.
  3. Reference books and periodicals are for in-library reading only and will not be issued to students.
  4. The library can refuse to issue books to those with overdue items.
  5. Users must leave personal belongings (bags, helmets, personal books) at the property counter before entering, at the owner's risk.
  6. Mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent. Violation attracts a fine of ₹100/-.
  7. All books, magazines, journals and newspapers must be returned to their respective places after reading.
  8. Identity cards must be produced on demand; failing this, library services may be denied.
  9. Users must not deface, mark, cut, mutilate, or damage any library material. Offenders will be fined, required to pay the cost of the book, and repeated offences may lead to membership cancellation.
  10. In case of loss of a book, the borrower must replace it with the latest edition or pay double the cost.
  11. Entry in the Library Visitor Register is compulsory for all users.

Circulation Hours

The circulation (issue/return) service is available from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM on all working days of the Library.

DELNET – Developing Library Network

Established to promote resource sharing among libraries through a nationwide network. DELNET provides Union Catalogue of Books (3.52 crore+ records), Union List of Current Periodicals (1.04 lakh+ records), Database of Periodical Articles, Theses & Dissertations, E-books and Inter-Library Loan & Document Delivery Services.

An initiative of the MHRD under its National Mission on Education through ICT (NME-ICT), executed by UGC. Provides high-quality, curriculum-based, interactive e-content in 70 subjects across all disciplines of social sciences, arts, natural & mathematical sciences, linguistics and languages.

Library Advisory Committee

The Library Advisory Committee supports the functioning of the library, facilitates development plans, and acts as a bridge between the Library, its users, and the institute management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Formulation: Develops and reviews policies regarding library use, borrowing rules and overall direction.
  • Vision & Direction: Establishes a clear vision for the library's future, outlining its overall goals.
  • Collection Development: Evaluates, recommends and approves procurement of new materials including books, journals and digital databases.
  • Budgeting & Infrastructure: Advises on annual budget, fund allocation and improvements to physical or digital infrastructure.
  • User Feedback & Services: Collects user feedback, reviews experiences and suggests improvements.
  • Innovation & Technology: Monitors and advises on adoption of new technologies, automation and digital resources.
