PGDM Architecture

Trimester Structure

The PGDM Programme is structured into six trimesters, divided equally over two years. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience through a blend of core and elective courses, along with practical exposure through internships and projects. This structure ensures students receive a well-rounded education that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning opportunities.

Dual Specialization

Students are required to specialize in at least one functional area, choosing electives that align with their career aspirations. Additionally, they have the option to pursue dual specialization, selecting electives from two functional areas to broaden their expertise.

Course Handouts

To support the learning process, students will have access to detailed course handouts for every subject, uploaded to the institute’s Learning Management System. Each course handout includes:

  • Course Description

An overview of the subject and its relevance.

  • Learning Outcomes

Clearly defined objectives, categorized into knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

  • Session Plan

A comprehensive outline covering topics, pre-readings, additional references, assignments, activities, and pedagogy.

  • Evaluation Scheme

Detailed rubrics and weight ages for various assessment components.

  • Policies

Guidelines related to attendance, participation, and other general academic norms.

These handouts are designed to provide students with a clear roadmap for the course, aligning classroom learning with the program's broader goals.

First-Year PGDM

The first year is focused on building a strong foundation in management principles while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Students develop key competencies such as analytical skills, decision-making, and structured reasoning. This phase introduces students to various functional areas of management, enabling them to connect classroom concepts with business practices.

Subjects introduced during the first year allow students to explore their areas of interest, providing an early glimpse into specialized fields. This ensures they are better prepared for practical learning experiences during their internships.

Second-Year PGDM

The second year emphasizes advanced understanding and application of management concepts via electives integration into the course. Students engage in projects, group exercises, and case discussions to deepen their knowledge and sharpen their practical skills. This phase goes beyond classroom learning, focusing on experiential methods that require active participation and critical thinking.

The second-year curriculum also prioritizes the development of essential managerial skills, securing success in the corporate world. Hence this ensures that ACCMAN students are well-equipped for productivity from their very first day on the job.

Through this balanced and well-structured approach, the PGDM program fosters an integrative understanding of management, empowering students to navigate complex business environments and make informed decisions.
